HOW IT ALL STARTED
At age 7 I received my first film camera, a blue Fisher Price camera with an external flash cube, and I literally took it EVERYWHERE! Over the years, I’ve changed cameras but one thing has remained constant, I feel great joy in documenting my family, children, outdoor scenery and more. I have tons of photo albums and love looking back and reminiscing about my childhood and more recently my children's childhood.
In high school, I took photography classes and spent countless hours in the dark room processing my negatives. By the time I got to college, I decided to pursue a degree in Business Management and for 10 years I worked for several different companies; everything from small business to non-profit to large banking corporations. However, through all those different jobs and experiences, I always had a nagging feeling that something was missing in my life. I missed photography and being creative. I got married in 2008 and was inspired by my wedding photographer to buy my first DSLR camera and the rest is history! As New Yorker, I had a lot of learning tools easily accessible such as classes in NYC. I studied with other professionals was able to use my business background to launch Jenna Domingo Photography!
I first founded my business in New Jersey in 2009 and then moved to North Carolina in 2011. We relocated here for my husband's job and fell in love with the Winston-Salem area. We often travel to Boone and Blowing Rock and I recently started taking jobs in the High Country as well. I have 3 children now and they are growing so fast but I love that I can quickly glance up at a large canvas on my wall or framed print on my mantle and see their sweet, tiny, baby faces smiling at me. Whether it be maternity, newborn, family portraits or any special event, my goal is always to capture special moments for the families I work with! I pride myself on taking clear, crisp photos that will last a lifetime! I love to do a mix of posed and candids and enjoy that evening "golden" hour light.
When I'm not taking photos you can find me on the soccer field, golf course or at gymnastics with my children! I enjoy running, working out, hiking, skiing, cooking, eating and traveling. My husband and my kids are my everything and we treasure our family time. I enjoy giving back to my community as a volunteer. I served as a volunteer photographer for Capturing Hopes Photography for two years taking photos of NICU babies. I now serve as a volunteer for the Parent Council at Clemmons United Methodist Preschool and am also on the PTA Board for Clemmons Elementary.
I look forward to meeting YOU and capturing this special time in your life!
